LOOK BACK IN WONDER
By Camilla Swart
What is wonder?
Children are filled with perpetual wonder, especially when they are little and just discovering the world around them. For adults it is something different.
It is that moment that you stand still, everything in your mind and body paused, and contemplate that which is in front of you. Hopefully with pleasure.
You might well ask how this applies to Linen Drawer? I will attempt an explanation.
We experienced several moments of wonder this year:
When we started the year with an order book so full it took several weeks of overtime to master it.
When raw recruits became skilled and committed machinists after six weeks of training.
When staff suggested short time to save money in a period of little work.
When colleagues stepped up to take on extra work in the case of sickness.
When Open days, and other celebrations of our product turned out to be great successes.
When clients are excited and proud to be owners of Linen Drawer products and send us wonderful letters praising us.
When we satisfy that difficult customer that needs understanding and patience.
In fact, now that I think about it – we have many moments of wonder every day, week, and month.
Looking back is wonderful but looking forward is better!
